Welcome to Schulhaus, a German language school for all ages and the official German Saturday school program in Denver and Colorado Springs. Our German school offers full immersion German language classes in Denver and three other locations in Colorado to ages 4-99 at all proficiency levels. Our teachers, all professionally trained native speakers, are experts in making German fun. We can get you started in German if you are an adult beginner. Or we can teach your children how to read and write German if they are native speakers. Who wants to be a pirate? Then you need to learn how to fence! Schulhaus will host a German fencing camp for beginners during the last week of Sommerschulhaus, July 30 – August 3. This will be a full immersion German camp, so in addition to learning a new sport, you will also learn German. We will fence for 3 hours every morning. For the rest of the day, you can have fun during our regular German camp from 9am to 4pm. We will provide all fencing equipment. The camp is open for kids ages 7 and up. Ten of our Schulhaus students participated in the 2012 AATG National German Exam, level 2. All of them achieved great results! Special congratulations go to Lucia who placed first among all participants in our AATG chapter (Colorado/Wyoming).
This was the first time that Schulhaus participated in the National German Exam and we were overwhelmed when we received the results. Not only did they confirm that our Schulhaus program successfully teaches to national standards but they clearly show that Schulhaus is one of Colorado’s top German programs. We are proud of our students and will happily continue to prove that German can be fun!

We are offering our full immersion German summer program on a very flexible schedule. You can enroll your child part time or full time. The summer Schulhaus will operate from 9:00 AM until 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Please arrive between 8:30 – 9:00 AM and pick up your child between 4:00 – 4:30 PM.

Weil unsere Theateraufführung im letzten Jahr auf so viel Begeisterung stieß, dass wir noch immer darauf angesprochen werden, wird es auch diesen Sommer wieder ein Theatercamp geben. Es wird in der Woche vom 4. bis 8. Juni stattfinden. Während dieser Woche werden wir ein Theaterstück auf Deutsch schreiben, unsere Kostüme und Requisiten basteln und das Stück einstudieren. Am 10. Juni werden wir unser eingeübtes Theaterstück auf dem Schulhaus-Sommerfest aufführen.
Für eine erfolgreiche Planung bitten wir um frühzeitige Anmeldungen. Das Theatercamp kann nur für eine ganze Woche gebucht werden und alle Schauspieler/innen müssen auch für die Aufführung am Sonntagnachmittag Zeit haben. Den Zeitplan für alle weiteren Sommercamps werden wir hier in Kürze veröffentlichen.
Zu unserem Schulhaus-Sommerfest am 10. Juni sind alle herzlich eingeladen. Bitte haltet euch den Tag frei und ladet Freunde ein!

Das Schulhaus wünscht allen schöne Ferien, frohe Feiertage und einen guten Start ins neue Jahr!
Unsere Klassen für Kinder und Jugendliche beginnen im neuen Jahr am 17. Januar. Für die Erwachsenen geht es schon am 9. Januar weiter.

Next year, our kids classes start on January 17. Classes for adults start on January 9.
Wie jedes Jahr kommt der Nikolaus unsere Schulhauskinder besuchen. Am Samstag, den 10.12. ist es wieder so weit. Dann werden wir sehen, wer letztes Jahr wirklich artig war!
Auch das deutsche Krippenspiel wird zu einer Tradition, die wir dieses Jahr stolz fortsetzen. Am Sonntag, den 18.12. findet in der Messiah Community Church um 17 Uhr der deutsche Weihnachtsgottesdienst mit Pastor Wolfgang statt. Wer deutsche Weihnachtslieder singen, Besinnliches hören und unser Krippenspiel sehen möchte, ist herzlich eingeladen!
Für alle Beteiligten: Die Generalprobe für das Krippenspiel findet am 18.12. um 16 Uhr statt. Alle Mitspielerinnen und Mitspieler müssen spätestens 16 Uhr anwesend sein. Danke!

As every year, St. Nick (or “Nikolaus”) will visit our Schulhaus. His visit is scheduled for Saturday, December 10.
Like last year, Schulhaus will take part in Messiah Community Church’s German Christmas Service on December 18 at 5 pm. We will perform a Christmas pageant in German. Everybody is invited!
For all actors: please be at the church at 4 pm before the service on December 18. It is absolutely necessary that you are there for the dress rehearsal. Thank you!
